As one year is coming to an end and another is set to begin, it’s the perfect time to pause, reflect, and set powerful intentions for what’s next. Journaling can be a transformative tool for personal development, helping you process past lessons, embrace the present, and “manifest” the future you desire. Whether you’re working on lifelong growth, redefining your goals, or simply exploring how to create your best year yet, journaling offers a creative way to connect with your inner “artist of life” and design a life that feels authentic and fulfilling.

This post is packed with 50+ journal prompts to guide you through the end of the year and into the new one with clarity and purpose. From reflection and manifesting to embracing ongoing goals and shifting with life’s challenges, these prompts will inspire you to step into the new year as your best self. Let’s make this your best year yet—starting now.

NOTE: Manifesting IS magic. BUT manifesting doesn’t work unless YOU DO THE WORK.

Take it from someone who has manifested 13 out of 19 things off of her vision board THIS YEAR. Those other 6, I JUST got started on or haven’t started yet at all. They won’t happen unless I make them happen and put in the work.

💖 Psst... I also run a small art shop! If you love cute, useful things like stickers, journals, or creative tools—check out what’s new in my store.

  10. What vision excites my future self so much that it pulls me forward even during hard times?

Why this is relevant: because I turned my vision board from each year into my planner cover. Once you’re done journaling & figuring out what you want, then you should put it into action. Put steps into your planner. Make it into a vision board. Put it somewhere you can see it every day. Your phone wallpaper, your planner cover, etc. You need a daily reminder on what you’re working towards.

  5. What small, consistent actions can I take when my original plan feels out of reach?

  6. In what ways can I practice patience and trust while working toward my goals?

  8. What tools, skills, or mindsets do I need to develop to navigate uncertainty with grace?

  9. Which goals still ignite a spark in me, even after setbacks, and why?

  10. How can I create flexible goals that honor both my ambition and the reality of life’s unpredictability?

Goals or Projects Without an End Date

  19. What unexpected joys or lessons have I discovered along the way?

  20. How does this continuous goal shape the person I am becoming?

Why this is relevant: One of my biggest goals over the course of the last few years has been growing my YouTube channel. Now that my brand AND blog has reached over 3 million impressions on search alone, I want to focus more time on my YouTube channel. I’m done rewriting it as a goal year after year. I finally have been putting in the time AND work to manifest this dream of mine. I learned to believe in myself through the power of learning to snowboard, which is not an easy feat!
